Character and Account
1.) You must post your character profile and wait for it to be accepted before posting. All information from the profile layout must be included in the application.
2.) Set your account name as yor character name. This is just so we don't have a hoarde of kittygrl22's and _ace_guy_'s roaming the site with different character names, making everything confusing.
3.) We like being realistic on this site, and that means, no wacky hair or eye colours please. Nobody in reality has bright purple eyes or silver hair. I can understand that hair dye and colored contact lenses are possible, but in fifty years they won’t be unless it’s with natural dyes, and even then you’d end up with differently colored roots as the hair grows out.
4.) Please don’t have your signature image to be much bigger than 500 pixels in length and 200 in height. Keeping it smaller and shorter won’t stretch the forum width or make people scroll down insane amounts to view the next post. There’s also an inventory box to remember.
5.) Speaking of which, the inventory box is mandatory, you must have it in your profile signature.
6.) I don’t care how many characters you make as long as you can keep up with them. No more than one character per account except in unusual circumstances, and then just PM a staff member to ask.
Roleplaying
1.) No text talk or ‘1337’ speak in the profile and when roleplaying, and try to keep it to a bare minimum in the Out Of Character area. Good grammar and punctuation makes it far easier for people to understand you, and there’s a spell check button at the bottom of every post.
2.) Posts are preferred in third person, past tense, meaning the character is referred to as 'he' or 'she', not 'me' or 'I', and action is, for example, 'they walked', not 'they walk'.
3.) No godmoding or powerplaying. This almost goes without saying, but I like to make sure. Don’t know what this means? Here’s a quick guide:
Godmoding – making your character capable of incredible things. Nobody can jump onto a roof in one leap, nor can they fall three storeys and land perfectly without hurting themselves. Godmoding literally means ‘God Mode’ and can encompass your character being able to do things like speak any language, dodge every attack, get shot and shrug off the pain, or run six marathons without being tired. Keep it real.
Powerplaying – controlling another’s character without their permission. You can’t hit someone in the face and say they reeled back from the attack. You can’t even assume you made the impact, because it’s possible to dodge. What you can say, however, is that your character threw a punch at the other’s face, and leave it to the other character to decide whether it will hit or not.
4.) No one-liner replies. We would like you to write ten decent lines of text at the minimum. If it seems people are often going under, I’ll install a minimum post length to make sure. This, obviously, does not apply in the Out Of Character area.
5.) When posting in a thread where more than two people are involved, please keep to a posting order. For example user1 posts, then user2, then user3, then user1 again, unless one of the members says it's okay to skip their turn in a thread. This is just so everybody gets a chance to respond.
6.) In regards to R (Rated) and M (Mature) content, we can handle small amounts of swearing and gore as long as it doesn’t become explicit or vulgar. Sexual content is better kept implied. Due to Proboards rules, we can’t allow it, so if you want to do a mature roleplay with someone, keep it to PMs.
7.) This has already been said in the 'Inventory and Money' post, but I want to make this doubly-clear. Do not add an item to your inventory unless you have found it in a post, bought it from a shop, or traded it. Only after your third post in a thread may you find something to add to your inventory. Not after the third reply posted, but after you have posted three times, regardless of the amount of people in the thread or how many replies it has. This is to stop people creating threads just to find items in the first post. You are not allowed to acquire firearms or ammo in a thread unless you have staff permission.
Other
1.) Obviously, it is fine for your character to argue with another’s character when in character; we like conflict. However, if this conflict continues between members out of character, then it becomes a problem. Remember that people are not their characters. Their character can be sarcastic or nasty, but that doesn’t mean the player is. Fighting in the boards or in the c-box will not be tolerated. If you feel the need to argue that desperately, then keep it to PMs or take it up with a member of staff. The latter would be greatly preferred.
2.) Obviously, have fun. Enjoy yourself, and if you have any queries, just PM a member of staff.
