Recently I've found a code that lets you have a shop system that is instantaneous and doesn't rely on staff members to get back to replies in the store you've posted in and deduct money from your account. Everything is quick, there's no waiting around. The shop adds another icon to the top banner, and for those who don't want to register on this site to check it out for themselves, here's a selection of screenshots that give you an idea of what things look like. This is the icon added to the top banner. How the items will be displayed below your icon. How the items are listed in your profile. What the shop selection looks like. Items can be added and removed, prices customised, items can be added by staff, and can be sold. Items can be categorised by faction and all other fancy stuff. It also has its own money system, which unfortunately differs from our current money system by the fact that being given karma by another mamber doesn't give you money.

I voted for the current but tweaked option. The coded version you offered seems to be a bit more linear. It's a horrible explanation, I know, but I can't think of the right word. I just got done with my Weatherization Technician training and my brain is at it's saturation point right now. I'll take another look at it tomorrow and see if I think differently.

What do you mean by linear? It's actually not too different from the current system we have, and all the items are in one places, rather than being scattered into different threads.
Plus, it stops cheating with the inventories as it's all done by code, and because there'd be no need for an inventory box in everyone's signatures, it maeans you can post more there, too.

What I meant was for customisation of weapons and objects. It takes out the "limited by your imagination" and replaces it with "yadda yadda description - no acceptions". We'd lose as much as we'd gain, turning a beautiful table top world into set rules Nintendo 8 bit. You get security, but you'd lose the realism. If someone cheats, ban them.
